How to Generate Barcodes of Products in GPOS

This tutorial will guide you through the process of generating and printing barcodes for your products in GPOS.


🛠️ Why You Need to Generate Barcodes

  • To speed up billing with barcode scanning

  • To track inventory accurately

  • To print price labels for shelves or packaging

  • To include product details such as price, tax, and supplier prefix


📋 Steps to Generate Product Barcode in GPOS

✅ Step 1: Go to the Barcode Module

  1. Log in to your GPOS dashboard.

  2. From the side menu, navigate to “Inventory”.

  3. Click on “Generate Barcode”.


✅ Step 2: Configure Barcode Page Size Settings

  1. Choose your sticker/page size.

    • Example: 38 mm × 25 mm (default recommended size).

  2. Select the details you want printed on the barcode sticker:

    • ✅ Price (Including Tax)

    • ✅ Product Name

    • ✅ Variant Name

    • ✅ VAT/Tax

    • ✅ Business Name

    • ✅ Supplier Prefix


✅ Step 3: Select Price Group (Optional)

  • If you have multiple price groups, select the one that applies.

  • Otherwise, the default selling price will be used.


✅ Step 4: Choose Product Mode

  1. Single Mode – Search and generate a barcode for one product at a time.

    • Search by Product Name or Product Code.

  2. Product List Mode – Select multiple products to generate barcodes in bulk.


✅ Step 5: Add Products for Barcode

  1. In the product list, search and select the desired product(s).

  2. Details such as:

    • Product Name

    • Supplier

    • Unit Price

    • Unit Tax

    • Price (Inc. Tax)

    • Quantity
      will appear.

  3. Enter the number of barcode stickers (Quantity) you want to print.


✅ Step 6: Generate and Print Barcode

  1. After selecting products and quantities, click on “Generate Barcode”.

  2. A preview of the barcode stickers will be displayed.

  3. Click “Print” to print them using your barcode/sticker printer.


🔐 Important Notes

  • Ensure your printer supports the chosen page size.

  • You can include or exclude details (like tax, business name, supplier prefix) depending on your requirement.

  • Barcodes can be regenerated anytime without affecting product data.


🎯 Tips

  • Use a barcode scanner to quickly test the printed barcodes.

  • For retail stores, always include Price Inc. Tax to avoid confusion.

  • If you have multiple outlets, add the business name for easy identification.


By following these steps, you can easily generate and print professional barcode stickers in GPOS, making product handling, billing, and inventory management faster and more accurate.
